Premises Developments for Lambeth Walk Group Practice

Following the Patient Participation Group (PPG) meeting held on 19 February 2026 at Chandler Hall, we are pleased to share an important update regarding future premises for Lambeth Walk Group Practice and neighbouring services in North Lambeth.

New Premises Identified in Vauxhall

Long-term premises have now been identified for Lambeth Walk Group Practice at the Graphite Square development, Jonathan Street, SE11 5HQ. This follows extensive survey work undertaken by NHS South East London ICB to identify a suitable site within the practice’s catchment area.

The site is currently vacant and already has the necessary permissions in place to be fitted out for the delivery of primary medical services.

 Co-location with Gray’s Inn Medical Group

In addition to accommodating Lambeth Walk Group Practice, the development will also provide new and expanded premises for Gray’s Inn Medical Group (formerly Vauxhall Practice), currently based nearby.

Benefits of the New Development

The shared premises at Graphite Square will:

• Provide modern, fit-for-purpose facilities
• Support long-term delivery of primary care services
• Be centrally located for both practice populations
• Enable more effective use of shared clinical space
• Create opportunities for enhanced neighbourhood-based healthcare services

Both practices will operate from a shared entrance on Jonathan Street.

Timeline

The proposal is subject to formal approval through NHS South East London ICB governance processes. Subject to approvals:

• Final agreements are expected by March 2026
• The new premises are planned for completion by early summer 2027

Lambeth Walk Group Practice continues to provide the full range of GP services to our registered patients from temporary premises across two sites:

• Hurley Clinic (Kennington Lane) – where most face-to-face appointments take place.
• Akerman Health Centre – where online and telephone consultations, face-to-face appointments, and administrative work are carried out.

Patients can choose to attend either Hurley or Akerman for their face-to-face appointments.

We recognise that these interim arrangements are not ideal for the longer term. NHS South East London (ICB) continues to work closely with the practice to secure a permanent site. A suitable location has been identified, and the ICB is working with the landlord to ensure the premises can meet the needs of the practice and support the delivery of high-quality primary care.

This opportunity is developing at pace, with discussions well advanced. The current timeline is for Lambeth Walk Group Practice to move into new premises by late 2026 or early 2027.

When we receive official progress updates, we will share them with patients at the next Patient Participation Group (PPG) meeting, which we hope will take place in November or December 2025.
