The Doctors I have come across seem dismissive. One of the first step in providing care is communication, which involves active listening and responding to the patient concerns. There's a way a person communicates that tells they take how they provide care to people is authentic. Professions like this shouldn't be just a job but humanity hub. I remember asking for referral from my GP and one of the Doctors called me to ask why. I told him I am being harassed by a family member after letting me explain he respond saying well you shouldn't have post online, posting online.... I was shocked that he didn't care about my mental state but went straight into my life to have an opinion. He then ask me to refer myself to a therapist. I think that was the last time I will ever want to request for help if I am going through something. I also have an experience of a Dr. was being dismissal, waste my time and couldn't help with a referral. I am supposed to book a smear test and don't even feel like doing it. I meet with healthcare professionals more often and I have experience professionalism so I know the different. As a clinician your tone, body language and style of communication matters. It affects how patients respond to treatment process. There are patients who gets worried about appointments and what to meet, some patients are fragile and vulnerable regardless if you can't see it, not every signs are visible. Be welcoming, your response can also contribute to enhance or decline someone's health.

You can access self service and advocate for your own needs in the consultation form, generally I have had good and swift responses, and felt listened to. The last GP i saw for a skin condition I was in and out within a few minutes, it felt a bit rushed and I had to ask for reassurance if it is or isn't something worse to reassure myself. All in all a good practice however. Will be glad when back closer to home especially for elders.

Unfortunately GP does not listen to the patients.Not interested to investigate the situation. Relying on the blood test results but not to the patients symptoms and complaints. Very little chance to be referred to the hospital specialist. Sorry but can’t recommend this practice…

Following an online request for a consultation and a telephone call with a GP, was allocated a face-to-face appointment with an appropriate healthcare professional. The assessment was thorough against the background of my medical records and the options for treatment clearly explained and followed up with excellent advice in response to questions.
By way of improvement, in the process of requesting online and receiving two responses, one via the NHS App and the other an sms message from the practice, there was a potential confusion as the information in the two messages was not consistent and needed to call the surgery for clafication.

I want to express my disappointment with the quality of care I received during my recent consultation on 04-11-2025. Despite explaining that I was experiencing symptoms consistent with a viral infection, the doctor did not perform basic checks such as examining my ears or taking my temperature.
I left the appointment feeling that my concerns had not been properly addressed, and without confidence in the assessment provided. I would appreciate it if you could review this matter and ensure that patients receive a more thorough examination in future consultations.
I would also like to request that I am not scheduled with the same doctor for any future appointments. This is the second time I have had a similar experience with him.

The other older male GP is so keen to get me out of the room he does not even bother to ask any questions. Since the practice moved the services have gone downhill. The physiotherapist listens carefully. She does not make diagnostic decisions using an algorithm. These may be statistically useful but are not always appropriate. E.g. hip pain in a 73 year old woman may be very common but in my case is due to tendonitis.

The surgery is the best. I had an appointment with one of my doctors, who is a very good doctor but for some reason he never let me explain why I went there. I told him I wanted to get some stronger pain medication but he was only looking at his computer and he made me very frustrated. I’m not a rude person but I felt like screaming at him as my visit to the doctor was meant to be a nice visit where I was given the chance to tell him my thoughts on what I’m going through.

I attended a scheduled blood test was refused the blood test was never asked why I thought needed my blood test. This not only resulted in a significant waste of my working day but also left me feeling frustrated and disrespected. The experience was disappointing and unprofessional, with staff behavior that felt unnecessarily hostile. At times, I was made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a patient seeking care.

The doctor I saw was Dr May on the 24/9
At 3pm.
Apart from being kept waiting for 45 mins Dr May was very unsympathetic in fact I found him to be unprofessional because he was talking about his own back pain. That is not what a patient with chronic pain wants to hear.
No painkillers were prescribed so I got absolutely nowhere.

I think Lambeth Group Walk Practice is very good considering all the issues with having to move, and it has done its best to serve its patient community well, with regular consultations to keep us abreast of developments.
Having said that, my appointment yesterday was a bit of a mess. It was changed from Tuesday to 8.50 on Wednesday morning. I then got a message saying it was 9.20 which meant I was squeezed for time. I phoned and the receptionist said they never book appointments before 9.00am. I had one back in the summer for 8.45am. Then when I arrived the receptionist told me that the doctor went to the wrong address. I waited another half hour for him to arrive and log in, by which time I had to rearrange my business for the rest of the day, yet again.

The lack of physical premises and the long wait for a GP appointment. The lack of follow-up on things like statins whete tests are supposed to happen after a few months. The receptionist who speaks softly behind a glass screen and wont speak up even when asked. No information is offered, it all has to be requested. She made it sound like a major deal to print out the blood test requests and then when asked simply pointed me to a QR code without checking that Icould cope with the technology. (She is abrupt on the phone as well.)

I attended over 40 check at GP practice request. I took a morning off work to attend appt. Ridiculous waste of time. The. Year running the appointment wanted to take my blood then schedule another appointment to discuss results. The only purpose of the 1st appt was to take blood. If I had been told this, I would have come to the surgery before work to see the phlebotomist. This felt like a box ticking exercise with no thought for efficiency for staff or patients. Impossible to make an appointment when you are ill. Easy to waste one for blood tests.

For an appointment that was meant to be maximum of 39 minutes l ended up staying 1.5 hours with a newborn. This is because of disorganisation and lack of respect of patients time. The doctor was 30 minutes late (l saw him come in) didn’t excuse himself, the receptionist didn’t communicate that we were waiting to the nurse and the doctor was scratching his nose and then put his finger in my newborns mouth. This is the first time l considered changing GP. Disgusting behaviour yesterday from the staff.

I attended for an over 40 general health check, I read what this entailed beforehand and was comfortable with that. When I arrived I was told I was just having a blood test (not finger prick) and was being tested for HIV which I didn’t expect. I understand the need, especially due to high rates in the borough but I’d liked to have known beforehand. I have anxiety so it helps me when I’m prepared for such things, and I’d have considered timing etc as with something like that I knew I’d be stressed waiting for the results. On the positive side, I received the results the very next morning which was helpful and eased my stress.

You asked me to provide you with feedback of my appointment yesterday. Thank you for the opportunity to do so.
I should start by saying that we’ve been registered with the Practice for many years and have been great advocates for it, especially during the period of its move away from Lambeth Walk.
However, my experience yesterday was disappointing.
Something clearly went wrong with my check in for a 10.50 appointment. I arrived early and then waited another 25 minutes or so past the time of my appointment before being seen. When I got home, I found that the Practice had actually called me after my appointment was due (10.59) presumably to ask where I was. I didn’t hear my phone ring at the time (possibly due to a weak signal) but by then I’d already spoken to a receptionist and had been sitting near her desk for some time.
I was basically discouraged by the appointment. Dr May was clearly unconcerned about a new symptom related to a finger inflammation that I’ve had for nearly two years. I left with the distinct impression that he regarded my appointment as a complete waste of his time.

Our family visit to LWGP at the Hurley Clinic was very good. We were attending to discuss vaccinations recommended before going on holiday and we received excellent advice as well as the actual vaccinations needed.

Over a year ago my husbands illness was not really dealt with the seriousness it deserved by one of your team. The way on which he was not listened to was not treated seriously was not actually examined hands on until months after his initial visit and rushed to hospital had life changing consequences and he is still under the care of Guys Oncology. So I would say that even though I have had on the whole positive experiences with the practice over the 20 years this experience has been a disaster for us.

Well Dr Mitre Running it well Dr May has become very confident doctor easy speaking too understanding other partner we'll Dr Sho is still learning take him time whenever am I'll his on call can see you or Doctor can see you next week hard too understand been there 50 year's its the best practice all staff polite easy speak too do good job it's group practice off excellence go many hospitals all know Lambeth Walk

I got through to surgery to book appt reasonably easily and was offered an appointment within same week.
On the day of appointment my bus got caught in traffic and I rang surgery as I thought I might have to cancel. They were able to extend my arrival time slightly & this enabled me to keep the appointment.
On arrival at Akerman Clinic site Reception area was calm, clean and there was plenty of seating nearby.
Receptionists greeted in a friendly way. GP seen was polite and professional.

I always have a good reception when I speak to the receptionist very helpful and polite and I have time to compose myself before I see the nurse or Gp. Everything is excellent

You can always get through on phone within minutes, staff are friendly, you don’t have to wait long for appointment. If you need to speak to your doctor they will respond very quickly. Best practice I’ve used

Although of course it's inconvenient that the surgery has moved from Lambeth Walk to Patmos Road, the staff do their very best to keep in touch, flag up vaccinations/check ups, respond to requests, make appointments including at hospitals. My most recent appointment was with a physiotherapist Becky who was extremely helpful as indeed are all the staff and doctors with whom I've come into contact.
