Premises Update

Further update regarding premises: 18th April 2024

We have managed to agree a further extension to our lease until the end of July this year (2024). We will need to move to temporary accommodation at the Akerman Health Centre SW9 6SF until we have a permanent premises locally which we are hoping to achieve in approximately 2 years. We have kindly been offered the use of 3 clinical rooms at the Hurley Clinic SE11 4HJ which is much closer to our current premises for patients who find it difficult to travel to Akerman. We acknowledge that this is a challenging time for everyone, but we hope that patients will find that they are able to access us without too much inconvenience for this period of time.

Premises Update January 2024

On the 19th of January we held a meeting to update patients – see photo below.

NHS South East London ICB is continuing to support the practice regarding future premises.

The Department of Education and King’s College London who own the building have kindly agreed to extend our lease until May 2024.

Since 2015 we have been working hard to find alternative premises for the practice. Several projects have been well advanced with years of meetings before collapsing for various reasons. We have explored well over 25 local options, and in the last 2 years have been having weekly meetings with the ICB to find a solution. The ICB has been working to find a permanent premises for us locally as well as temporary premises from May 2024. The only option that has been found available is in Akerman Health Centre, SW9 6SF. We recognise that the location is not suitable for our patients and we are working hard to find an alternative solution. 150 patients attended the meeting on 19th of January, and many expressed their understandable concern regarding this. Our patient participation group are contactable by email at lambethwalkmove@gmail.com, or if you do not have email you can leave your contact details at reception so that they can contact you in order to understand the situation better. We will continue to update the website. We would like to reassure you that one way or another Lambeth Walk Group Practice will continue to provide high quality General Practice services in the local area.

The national GP survey (https://www.gp-patient.co.uk/) shows that our patients report that both accessing our services and the experience of being seen by clinicians here are very considerably above both local and national averages. We have just been awarded a ‘good’ CQC report (January 2024). You may continue to access our services using our cloud based phone system, the NHS app, online consultations and by attending reception.
